MISPLACED PRINCESS: A Review

Facebook can be a fabulous thing, especially when you find out about great deals.  And in my book, there is no better deal than free reads.  Legitimate free reads offered by the author are like an extra day of Christmas!

I found out about the most recent book I read from Facebook.  Not only was it free, it was full length, and written by two of my favorite authors, Lexxie Couper and Mari Carr.  Double score!!

Misplaced Princess (Foreign Affairs Book 1)

I love cowboys!  And any book that stars a cowboy is already awesome to me.  Misplaced Princess  didn't disappoint, and it had a great twist that makes it different from a lot of other cowboy lovin’ romances out there.

Annie Prince is a reluctant socialite.  Her family loves the limelight.  They thrive on the drama so much they have their own reality show that Annie wants nothing to do with.  Annie is an independent woman working her way up in the world of journalism.  Unfortunately, her family name attracts a lot of the wrong kind of men.  She turns to her best friend, Monet, for advice before she decides to men up altogether.

After a drunken night with Monet, Annie begins an online relationship with a very nice, attractive man.  And the best thing about him is that he has no idea who she or her family is.

Because he lives in Australia.

That makes it kind of tough to have a romance.

So she and Dylan decide to meet.  But when she arrives in Sydney expecting to see her new online beau, she instead meets his twin brother, Hunter.  It seems she and Dylan didn't communicate their plans very well, and Dylan was on his way to New York to meet Annie.

Annie has to stay in Australia once she gets there.  The only way she was able to take the time off was if would write a four-part series about life at a cattle station in Australia.

Once Hunter and Annie meet, however, she decides staying in Australia is just the thing she needs.  A little sun, some anonymity, and a lot of Hunter.

The story is wonderfully written, easy to follow, and the characters are great.  And let’s not forget the heat on this one…it’s HOT!

My favorite part about this book is what both authors contributed.  From Annie’s American-ness to Hunter’s Australian language, both Mari (from America) and Lexxie (from Australia) added details to the story that made it unique and real.

I’m so glad I heard about this freebie.  But, having said that, I would have paid for it.  Not only are Lexxie and Mari some of my favs, the book was super, and I can’t wait to get book number 2 in the series!

This is a definite MUST READ!

I hope you enjoyed this review, and if want to find the book, Misplaced Princess, it’s available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble, and on the publishes site, Ellora's Cave.
